While our County has experienced economic challenges in the past year, County government is committed to meeting those challenges head-on by fostering a local economic climate that promotes intergovernmental cooperation, job retention and expansion of our employment base.

Most recently, the County Board approved the creation of a locally supported revolving loan fund to invest in locally owned small businesses.  The County Board also partnered with local businesses, municipal governments and community leaders to take steps toward the creation of a collaborative economic development organization.  This unprecedented effort will create jobs and expand the local economy. 

As the growth of the St. Louis Metropolitan area continues, led by the County Board, Macoupin County has quickly earned a reputation for being a great place to call home and do business.
